About my week10&week11 in NCKU
Can’t wait to write this week’s blog🤩🤩 (Since I already finished the blog for the week we didn’t need to write one, the journal I uploaded last week was actually written during Week 8. How is it already Week 11 now?😭😭😭)
Before I get into the details, I just want to say—I really love my life this semester…👉🏻👈🏻 Last week was suuuper fun, so I decided to start from Thursday😸!

It was Shakespeare’s birthday today, so the Department of Foreign Languages held a birthday party for him 🥳🥳 (He’s 461 years old this year… 😑😐) But the best part? The party came with a free lunch—and it was delicious! I seriously wish Shakespeare could have like three birthdays a year or something.
On Thursday night, I went shopping with Trinity to buy clothes because I wanted to wear something new for the volleyball tournament this weekend (okay… it was really just an excuse to spend money💸💸). We had tacos for dinner—so good!

Today was the karaoke event held by the foreign languages + biotech departments! I’d been looking forward to it for so long because so many people I know were performing!
As soon as I arrived, I devoured a bunch of sweet potato balls… 😑 Then I saw performances by Marian, Tim, Mark, and the entire flld volleyball team—I was sooo happy, they were all so cute 🥺🥺🥺
After the event, Murphy gave me a ride back to the dorm. It had been a while since we really talked, and this time we had a deep conversation. I feel like we’ve both grown a lot over this semester.

‼️This was the moment I was looking forward to the most this week! The volleyball team had a tournament in Kaohsiung (I went to help record the games), and it totally felt like going on a fun trip, so I was super excited 😙😙
In the morning, I went with Yolin to buy McDonald’s pancake burgers (thankfully there wasn’t a long line this time—so touching🥲) and we sat at the track field eating and watching a soccer game. What a great way to start the day!
At the venue, all the English departments from different universities were preparing for the tournament, which made me nervous too… but our team seemed only concerned about what to eat for lunch 😑
At 15:00 it was finally our turn. The first match was against a team with very similar strength. We won the first set more easily, but the second one was so intense—it went to 27:25! I was literally holding my breath😐 But the moment they won, they looked SO HAPEE, like they had just won the world championship, and that made me super happy too! Everyone played SO well that day 🥹
Day 1 MVP goes to NO.1 MARK TSAI🎖️
Coolness awards go to NO.3 KRISTEN & NO.7 JUSTIN QIU 😎🤓
At 16:30 we had our second match, and of course, everyone was still in amazing form, so we won again and moved on to the next round! Watching them pack up their stuff with happy faces, ready to go eat dinner, made me feel so warm and proud 😚
For dinner we went to a stir-fry place—cheap and super filling. As expected, the moment we sat down, everyone started ordering like crazy… 13 people ended up ordering 10 plates of fried rice (?!) 😵💫🍽️
Eating MVPs: NO.1 MARK TSAI, NO.3 KRISTEN WANG, NO.10 TIM HONG (You probably don’t know who they are, but just know that they are David Wang = 大胃王
We spent about NT$5,000💰 at the stir-fry place and guess what? They still weren’t full, so we all went to the night market to continue eating 😐 These people really lost control when it came to food.

After the joy of yesterday, today was a brand new journey. It was the top 6 round of the tournament, and we were getting closer to the trophy! Since I didn’t stay at the hotel with the team the night before, I ended up taking the MRT by myself and miraculously ran into the whole team on the same train! 😆 Not having to go to the game alone was already a great start ✌🏻
Today’s match started at 9:30 a.m. Our opponent had a similar skill level, so the game was just as intense as the day before. The score was always neck and neck. (My role was just to film and cheer them on from the sidelines 😅) We lost the first set by a little, so there was a lot of pressure going into the second. Fortunately, we made a comeback at 25:21, bringing it into the deciding third set.
I have to admit the third set was so nerve-wracking… I felt like my Apple Watch was going to send me a warning ⚠️ about my abnormal heart rate ⚠️
Sadly, we lost the third set 12:15 and were stopped in the top 6. Everyone looked so down after the game, and I felt heartbroken too😔😔😔
Our MVP of the day, NO.10 TIM HONG, even started crying on the bench, and then NO.14 SEAN DAI and NO.16 CHARLES WANG also burst into tears… I felt totally helpless and didn’t know how to comfort them. But eventually, after chatting and cooling off, everyone seemed to feel better.
It was truly a special trip and such a beautiful memory for me🫣🫶🏻

Since I didn’t go home this week, I had time to resume my Tainan food tour at noon! Today I went to 📍BACKSEAT後座熟食店. Even on a quiet Monday, I still had to wait 20 minutes 🙀 What kind of restaurant is this😒😒 But the food was actually delicious, so I forgive them.
Oh, and the theme was really cute—an old-school American style. They also sold vintage American toys, so I give the interior style a full score! 💯

It was a rare afternoon where I had time for a mini date with my FRIEND, we went to the beach! I really wanted to watch the sunset, so we chose a free afternoon to go to 📍黃金海岸. We took pictures, chatted, and waited for the sunset (the place was beautiful! There was even someone taking wedding photos—so cute!).
After that, we went to 📍阿棠牛肉湯. Something funny always happens when I visit this place. This time, the owner had already closed, but when we passed by, he told us he had saved two bowls of beef soup for some friends who didn’t show up—so he gave them to us instead! Maybe because they were for his friends, the bowls were super packed with beef! 😁😁 (I’m always lucky when it comes to beef soup 🍀)
The last stop was right across the street at 📍好口味鱔魚意麵. The downside is that you have to wait a long time, but the food was quite good. I waited so long I almost fell asleep before it came out…

It was the first time this semester that I went to KTV! It was also my first time going with Trinity, Jovanna, and Nia. Honestly, it was so loud with friends 💥🫨 I almost lost my voice…
My favorite moment was when we all sang "CALL ME MAYBE" together. It used to be my favorite song when I was younger, and I hadn’t heard it in so long.
We accidentally stayed out until 1 AM, so I was super tired the next day (Friday)
At 19, I feel like I’m aging fast—just one day of fun and I’m totally exhausted…
🗣️These were a few very fulfilling and joyful days for me! Even though it might not seem that exciting just by reading it, these days truly gave me the strength to keep enjoying school life 💪🏻😭
For me, this week was super fun and tiring. Except to four midterms, I still felt happy and excited. In Shakespeare’s birthday, in addition to delicious food and party, I played “You draw and I guess” game. That was sooo funny. I watched the competition of men’s volleyball team in our department. They played really well. I also participated volleyball game, and that made me experience unforgettable memory.
回覆刪除I don’t know why, but when I’m reading your blog, 4/24 feel like it happened in the dinosaur era. 🦕🧓 Like what day is it even today?? Time is passing so fast. As always, your week is full of delicious food, funny trip, and lots of besties involved. I genuinely don’t know where you’re getting this infinite energy, are you sponsored by caffeine??😒😒
回覆刪除I think I’ve been listening to those what you shared for about a hundred times😅~( I like listening to them though) I actually thought it might not be so fun having only the four of us in ktv, but it turned out super fun.😭 I love spending (wasting) time with you guys( literally guys as we speak rudely, okay I think you might say it’s only me) HEY I JUST MET YOU AND THIS IS CRAZY BUT HERE’S MY NUMBER SO CALL ME MAYBE🤙🤙(that guy in the mv is sooo hot) and I couldn’t🙄more about your FRIEND bro. Just say it out loud please👏👏👏
回覆刪除Is was very unfortunate that I cannot join the Shakespeare's birthday party because I forgot to fill in the google form before deadline, and I also saw few pictures of the lunch; it seemed very nice, but I think that lunch cannot satisfy my hunger. However, it seemed that party was wonderful but cannot say it is the best party.
