Tainan Life Diary This Week
Since I had PE class on Monday afternoon, I took the 9:30 AM train back to Tainan. When I arrived at Tainan around 11:30 AM, my only thought was: "It's so hot here, can winter please not end?" After that, I went back to my dorm and unpacked my luggage. I also brought some Kobe pudding to school this week, and I decided to reward myself with one after my Spanish class on Tuesday. The walk to the volleyball court in the afternoon felt so long, and because of the heat, there was hardly anyone walking outside. But I met new friends from the Department of Political Science and Geosciences during PE class, and I had a great time playing volleyball with Winnie! In the evening, I took a walk to the library to review the material for the next day's classes. A simple day ended like that.
Tuesday is my least favorite day, so when I woke up, I told myself that I could have a pudding after school. After finishing my three morning classes and my Spanish class in the afternoon, I asked Nia to join me at the gym. I really enjoy exercising because it helps me release a lot of stress, and I always feel much more relaxed afterward. In the evening, it suddenly started raining heavily, so my friends and I ordered Korean fried chicken via Uber Eats and spent a long time chatting in the dorm. It felt like it had been a while since we had done this, so it was a very happy day (even though I ended up eating back the calories I burned from exercising... and forgot to eat my pudding).
Wednesday was the day I was looking forward to the most this week! I had suddenly decided on Monday to go to Kaohsiung today and have a meal with a friend whose birthday is tomorrow! I woke up full of energy and went through all my classes today with enthusiasm. Afterward, I took a train to Kaohsiung with my friend Kris. It felt a bit like an adventure because I rarely think so seriously about where to visit in Kaohsiung (even though I only had six hours). We ate Korean food together, took some four-panel photos, and then I sent him back to KMU. I also bought drinks for some high school classmates who were studying at KMU, and I had a great time chatting with them! When I got back to Tainan, I found out that one of my high school classmates had been feeling down, but when I showed up to visit her, she forgot all about her bad mood. Being able to give energy to others is very important to me, so today felt truly worthwhile.
Thursday was a bit busy. I wrote my first essay of the semester in the computer room and attended a meeting for the foreign language camp at noon. Since it was raining heavily, I had to walk back to the dorm, which took much longer than expected. After my afternoon classes, I went to Trinity's dorm for a long-overdue one-on-one chat, and we ended up talking for four hours. For dinner, we went to a pasta restaurant called Mr. Eraser, which was delicious and I highly recommend! Late at night, around 11 PM, I had some grass jelly, but lately, I've been feeling a little sad when I eat it because once winter ends, they won’t be selling it anymore. I really hope winter doesn’t end.
Friday was the day to go home, and I was really looking forward to it! Our speaking class discussion topic was family issues. Christina asked if anyone got pocket money for doing household chores when they were young, and I was surprised that only two people raised their hands, and one of them was me. I used to do chores to earn money when I was a child, although now that I think about it, I feel that it was my responsibility and I shouldn’t have been paid for it. Still, I would use the pocket money to buy things I liked. After class, I quickly packed my things and took the train back to Taichung at 1 PM.
Happy third week at NCKU, and it’s done!

回覆刪除I absolutely love your blog! Your writing is so vivid that I can almost picture your daily life as if I’m experiencing by myself (I’m wondering if the pudding tastes good) I think it’s amazing how you capture even the smallest moments and details (like you chatting with Trinity for four hours, that’s WOW). And after reading your blog, it makes me full of positive energy!Truly appreciate the way you share your daily life. Looking forward to your next blog!

回覆刪除Your paragraphs are well-organised and thus make it much easier to read your blog. In addition, when I read them, I can stay focused on the stories you portray rather than distracted by some minute details like grammatical errors, which is really great. Besides, I am impressed by your ability to depict those stories thoroughly within merely a few lines. I've learnt a lot by reading your post.
