About my fourth week in NCKU

I always tell myself every week, "Maybe I should just stay in Tainan this week and see what I can do, instead of going home." But every week, I end up concluding, "It's so boring here, I should just go home." (I still love my bed the most.) Since I'm the kind of person who goes home every week, my diary this week starts like always, from Monday.

Although my schedule is pretty much fixed every week—taking the 9:50 AM train and arriving in Tainan by 11:30 AM—this week is a little different. My parents happen to have something to do in Chiayi, so I get to be the lucky kid with a private car to pick me up (only from Taichung to Chiayi). After arriving in Chiayi, I took the local train to Tainan (I have to say, the local train is really slow, and I felt like my butt was about to fall apart. 😑). Once I got to the dorm, I unpacked and went to my PE class. That day, I was placed in a group with some really skilled classmates, I think it's fun and I can improve faster this way.It was another fun volleyball class! In the evening, I went to the library with my roommate Kelly, finished a peer review, and read a little Spanish before the library closed! (That was the first time I heard the library closing music…)

On Tuesday, I signed up for a lecture that included lunch. I highly recommend it to everyone—it saved me the time of going out to buy lunch! (Great value!) Plus, after the lecture, the staff told us that our area was the most engaged in the room, which felt really rewarding. Maybe it was because the topic was business-related, which has always been something I’m interested in. (By the way, the staff asked, "Why are there so many freshmen here? You guys are so focused on your future." I replied, "Probably because freshmen are hungrier." 😅) In the evening, Trinity came to our dorm to hang out! We watched a bunch of K-pop performances, from BTS to Babymonster (I think we stared at the computer for about two hours…). It made me really reflect on the influence of Korean culture on teenagers. Without realizing it, we watched from 7 PM to after 9 PM, then went to a nearby herbal jelly shop for a late-night snack. It was so delicious! (Trinity recommended it 👍🏻)

On Wednesday, after class, Kelly and I went to buy sandwiches from Louisa. I got the tuna corn sandwich 🥪 (tuna and corn is the best combination in the world!!!). Then we went back to the dorm to watch a Korean drama. I’ve been rewatching Crash Landing on You (it’s my favorite Korean drama). In the evening, I went to a dinner with our mentor ,  this week I ate so much free food(saved quite a bit). I chatted with Nia and Trinity for about two hours, and I don’t know why but when we’re together, we can talk non-stop…🗣️ Later around 10 PM, Nia, Trinity, and Jovanna went to eat ice cream. When we hang out, we always just talk and do our own things. It’s simple but so happy. Oh, and I also received a dinosaur doll from my friend that day! I’m still thinking about what to name it 🤔. I thought the day was over, but at midnight, Nia and I went to join the flld's karaoke night-snack time(it was so much fun to remember, but I wonder how Trinity and Jovanna felt about it). We ended up hanging out outside until 1 AM before going back to the dorm.

On Thursday, I got back my exam results for Spanish. I thought I did well, but when I saw my paper, I realized I had misread a whole section of questions, so I lost 15 points 😅 (that was a bit embarrassing…). But no worries, I’ll try harder next time not to make the same mistake. By the afternoon, I was so hungry (I hadn’t eaten breakfast or lunch), so I ordered Uber Eats and had chicken breast, which made me feel much better! In the evening, I didn’t have any special plans, so I went with my roommate Marian to buy a hat. I accidentally found something perfect for Kelly, and of course, she ended up spending more money. After that, I went with them to get takoyaki. I’m such a good roommate! 🤟🏻👁️👄👁️🤟🏻

Fridays are always full of energy because once I’m done with class, I have nothing else to do! Plus, I’m going to watch a movie in the evening—so exciting! I woke up in a great mood today 😁. In my speaking class, we discussed how household chores are divided, like whether you would prefer to be a stay-at-home mom or a career woman. Without hesitation, I chose the second one because staying at home seems so boring to me. We often discuss these life issues in the speaking class, and sometimes it’s really interesting. After lunch, I went back to the dorm and continued watching Crash Landing on You, now really looking forward to the movie in the evening!:)

It was another fulfilling week, and I love living a life full of energy! ✌🏻

  1. 🗣️ WHICH MOVIE ARE YOU GOING TO WATCH?! (Of course I have to ask 😭)
Anyway, as a person who have to take the train to school every day, I gotta say I completely agree with you, my butt always feels so painful sitting on that so so so uncomfortable chair 💀. Again, your week in Tainan always seems so funny and full of energy. I don’t know what else to say. Are you gonna write about your fifth week in Tainan for your next blog? Lol.

  2. It seems that you don't have too much schedule needs to worry about, and also you have much time to spend on yourself, which make me admire your life because I need to do multiple things on every day, such as having a tutor, the meeting of the CUL, working out, playing basketball in the department team.On top of that, I haven’t back to Taipei since 2/17 because the price of ticket is too expensive. I hope that I can back to Taipei next week( if I’m not very busy)

  3. Wow, it seems like your after school life is a lot more fun than mine, I'm always super exhausted (for some reason) after class so I just crash in my dorm, I should sleep earlier to get the most out of studying in Tainan. Going home every week is also the strategy I use, it's just too boring to spend the weekend in Tainan for me, and I guess I do too, love my bed more than any other ones.

  4. I love my bed too😭😭 I feel like only going home can make me relax completely. By the way, I love your emojis🫦👌🏻👍🏻, which makes the article funnier.
I'm always wondering how other classmates spend their day, and I'm glad that someone shares the schedule!
And it seems like you really like watching movies! Would you like to share a must-see movie list🥺?
