About my BIRTHDAY WEEK in Tainan
This week was especially exciting because it was my birthday week! 🎂🥳
On Sunday, my high school friend came to Tainan to visit me, so I didn’t go home. Since she arrived around 4 PM, I spent the afternoon browsing a nearby album store and bought a BTS album, which made me super happy! For dinner, we went to a Japanese-style restaurant with a retro vibe, and the pudding 🍮 there was absolutely amazing—I think everyone in Tainan should try it at least once! In the evening, my friend surprised me with a customized birthday cake. The ocean-themed design on the outside and the Oreo-houjicha-flavored filling were both my favorites. I was really touched by this surprise… 🥹
On Monday, my friend and I continued exploring Tainan. For breakfast, we went to a brunch place that offered free coffee latte art! I asked for a Vanellope design, and it was so cute that I almost didn’t want to drink it. 😭😭 Our next stop was a unique photo booth with a baking kitchen theme. But after that, we got too tired and went back to the hostel to rest. I originally planned to just lie down for a while, but I accidentally fell asleep for an hour… 😑💤. After waking up, I recommended a restaurant near NCKU to my friend (it’s my favorite restaurant in Tainan). The restaurant is called SUNDAY(🍛), and luckily, my friends loved it too—she gave it a 100🌟 rating! After saying goodbye, I walked back to my dorm while my friends went back to their hostel. It felt a little empty, but I was still so happy that my high school friend came to Tainan to visit me.
On Tuesday, my English composition class was fun! Our group was assigned to describe the steps to draw a fire truck, but we struggled to explain the patterns on the truck, so we ended up writing the word “rectangle” over and over again on our worksheet. Now that I think about it, no one probably understood what we were trying to say… . In the afternoon, I went with Trinity to get her bike fixed—finally, the noisy wheel was repaired😅 Then, I went back to my dorm to unbox my BTS album and pulled a V photocard. (I’m not actually a BTS fan, but I really love their music!!) 🔺I’d like to recommend BTS’s *Your Eyes Tell* 🎵🎧. Oh, and at night, I went on a long walk with Kelly through the streets of Tainan—we walked for about two and a half hours! That day, I ended up walking a total of 11 kilometers…
On Wednesday, I almost arrived late to my oral training class. I biked as fast as I could 🚴🚴, only to find that very few people had arrived (apparently, everyone is always late on Wednesdays). After morning classes, I decided to treat myself to a nice lunch since it was my last day being 18! My friends and I got mentaiko rice balls and drinks 🍙🥤. It was such a happy lunch—everything was perfect except for the hot weather. In the afternoon, I attended a general education class with Nia, Jovanna, and Trinity, and we had fun drawing silly pictures during class. Later that night, I looked through many photos from my 18th year, reminiscing before finally saying goodbye to my 18-year-old self. 👋🏻👋🏻
Thursday was MY BIRTHDAY ! 🎂🥳 I welcomed my 19th year by talking on the phone with my good friend Annabel for about 20 minutes at midnight. Honestly, I didn’t feel like getting out of bed in the morning—I had that “it’s my birthday, I don’t want to go to class” kind of laziness. But I eventually got up, motivated by the thought of my birthday dinner. In the evening, I celebrated at an izakaya with friends. The mentaiko cream udon was amazing, and I finally got to eat the aburi salmon sushi I had been craving for so long🍣😭. I was also really grateful for the birthday cake my friends prepared—strawberry chocolate flavor! 😋 (It felt so lucky to enjoy a strawberry cake before the strawberry season ended 🥹.) After dinner, we went to the field to chat and play games. It was such a simple thing, but these little moments always stay with me. Later, at around 11 PM, I even had a *second* dinner 😅. Even though I hadn’t even digested my first meal yet, I allowed myself to eat as much as I wanted—after all, I was the birthday girl! 🙂↕️ This time, we had Korean BBQ at a restaurant where they grilled everything for us before serving. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the place was open until 2 AM… which is why my friend and I ended up chatting there for way too long. 😑
On Friday, I paid the price for all the fun I had the day before—I got my period and felt terrible. So, I decided to take a day off, skip all my classes, and go home. It might look like I was just being lazy, but I swear I really wasn’t feeling well…😑
This week was also amazing—I really love my life in Tainan!
So...happy birthday for 19. It seemed an almost perfect week, and you experienced a lot of happiness. By the way, I can never forget the composition class activity that made all of us confused ALL drawing descriptions. It was really funny and ridiculous. Finally, hope you can be happy every day in your next year.
回覆刪除Oh wow, happy birthday to you!! 🎂🥳 Hope you’re doing great and feeling fantastic every day! Oh and that izakaya sounds really good, especially the udon. I love udon! 🙌🏻 Yes, once again, your week is always full of fun stuff and delicious meals. 🍣🍙 I wonder where the video of you playing that game where you have to close your eyes and step for one minute. I saw Jovanna’s, and I was laughing so hard (mostly because of Trinity’s laughter, but anyway).
回覆刪除Happy belated birthday!!! It sounds like you had an amazing week filled with fun, good food, and great company. I’m really glad you had such a joyful time celebrating and enjoying life in Tainan. Wishing you a fantastic year ahead!!!!! I'm also like BTS's songs, and YOUR EYES TELL is such a beautiful Japanese song!
回覆刪除Yes, of course, me in your blog again😳🤭You should be charge for my appearance fee🥸👙Hope you had a great time of celebrating your birthday. (Although we had some 🤏tiny little trouble) Even though I’m not the main character that day, I felt really happy. I couldn’t recall the last time we went to the sports field to talk and laugh. (Maybe it’s because someone keeps dating? )(WHO?) Yah but I pretty sad about the part that you went to a bbq restaurant I was desperately wanting to go. Now that you went there with cookie gaygay, I would say it’s now a must-not go restaurant for me.😤😤
