About my BIRTHDAY WEEK in Tainan

This week was especially exciting because it was my birthday week! 🎂🥳     On Sunday, my high school friend came to Tainan to visit me, so I didn’t go home. Since she arrived around 4 PM, I spent the afternoon browsing a nearby album store and bought a BTS album, which made me super happy! For dinner, we went to a Japanese-style restaurant with a retro vibe, and the pudding 🍮 there was absolutely amazing—I think everyone in Tainan should try it at least once! In the evening, my friend surprised me with a customized birthday cake. The ocean-themed design on the outside and the Oreo-houjicha-flavored filling were both my favorites. I was really touched by this surprise… 🥹   On Monday, my friend and I continued exploring Tainan. For breakfast, we went to a brunch place that offered free coffee latte art! I asked for a Vanellope design, and it was so cute that I almost didn’t want to drink it. 😭😭 Our next stop was a unique photo booth with a baking kitchen th...

About my fifth week in NCKU

Monday On my way back to Tainan by train, I was incredibly lucky to get a two-person seat all to myself! For the entire 1.5-hour ride, I didn’t have to worry about where to put my luggage and could do whatever I wanted comfortably. I took it as a great start to the week! Since the weather suddenly turned cold again this week, I noticed that many people were walking instead of riding bicycles on the way to PE class. I left my dorm earlier today to pick up my revision from Jane’s office before slowly making my way to the volleyball court. I checked the temperature—it was only 16°C in the afternoon! It was hard to believe that just last week, it had been around 28°C at the same time… 😑 Tuesday This Tuesday was one of the rare ones I actually (kind of) looked forward to! The reason? For composition class, I only needed to attend the conference session to be marked as present. (Not that I don’t like composition class! But it meant I could sleep in until my conference started.) This a...

About my fourth week in NCKU

I always tell myself every week, "Maybe I should just stay in Tainan this week and see what I can do, instead of going home." But every week, I end up concluding, "It's so boring here, I should just go home." (I still love my bed the most.) Since I'm the kind of person who goes home every week, my diary this week starts like always, from Monday. Although my schedule is pretty much fixed every week—taking the 9:50 AM train and arriving in Tainan by 11:30 AM—this week is a little different. My parents happen to have something to do in Chiayi, so I get to be the lucky kid with a private car to pick me up (only from Taichung to Chiayi). After arriving in Chiayi, I took the local train to Tainan (I have to say, the local train is really slow, and I felt like my butt was about to fall apart. 😑). Once I got to the dorm, I unpacked and went to my PE class. That day, I was placed in a group with some really skilled classmates, I think it's fun and I can improve ...

Tainan Life Diary This Week

Since I had PE class on Monday afternoon, I took the 9:30 AM train back to Tainan. When I arrived at Tainan around 11:30 AM, my only thought was: "It's so hot here, can winter please not end?" After that, I went back to my dorm and unpacked my luggage. I also brought some Kobe pudding to school this week, and I decided to reward myself with one after my Spanish class on Tuesday. The walk to the volleyball court in the afternoon felt so long, and because of the heat, there was hardly anyone walking outside. But I met new friends from the Department of Political Science and Geosciences during PE class, and I had a great time playing volleyball with Winnie! In the evening, I took a walk to the library to review the material for the next day's classes. A simple day ended like that. Tuesday is my least favorite day, so when I woke up, I told myself that I could have a pudding after school. After finishing my three morning classes and my Spanish class in the afternoon, I ...
